Foreign trade

Foreign trade constitutes an important part of Pakistan's economy. Since Pakistan is basically agricultural community, its major export is cotton and cotton products 
   Since independent Pakistan has made rapid progress in improving its economy by not only improving its agriculture sector but also by taking concrete steps towards.
Industrialization. In 1947, Pakistan was exporting hides and skins, now nearly fifty years later it is exporting leather and leather products, which are second to none in the international market,

Today, manufactured goods from 60% of the total export followed by semi manufactured and primary commodities as 22% and 18% The main items of Pakistan's export are cotton, textile manufacture, rice raw, wool, fish and fish products
    Vegetables, leathers goods, surgical and medical instruments, fresh fruits, oil seeds, petroleum products, carpets handicrafts, sport goods, chemicals and Pharmaceuticals. Recently Pakistan has started exporting machinery, cement and sugar refinery plants manufactures at heavy mechanical complex, textile to Bangladesh and Malaysia.
